I cant believe we are in the last week on the course.
Although the course finishes this week, I remain on placement with Roundhill and Oakfield to the end of the academic year.
I watched the final performance of the Wiz and was very proud of the work they students did and they will achieve very good grades for their work over the last 4 months. I was also very proud of myself and got a card from the group saying how much they enjoyed working with me and that it was a positive experience for them also. Seeing input from myself resulting in the final presentation really gives you a positive feeling and understanding how the whole rehearsal and teaching process comes together.
This year certainly has had its up's and down's and I have heard that organisation of the course that could be better and supporting future cohorts on the programme has been looked at and addressed. A new manager for the PDGE has been appointed and is a strong leader to help guide future cohorts thorough with support of Dorothy also.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time on the PDGE and have made some friends for life as we embrace teaching in our new jobs. I will be working on the Supply List for the next year with myself having a 6 month contract teaching Drama and Media GCSE in Melton. I have learned many things on the programme about teaching and learning but also alot about myself.
I was told all those years ago not to expect much from me on the thought I was lazy, when I was actually dyslexic. Now after all the fantastic things I have done with my life. I have completed the programme and feel I can use those positive experiences and bring them into a range of education institutions due to the range of placements I have been on.
To finish I wish to say that from this course and teacher training I believe I have the right learning tools to be a proactive and successful educational practitioner. I also have the ambition and enthusiasm to make learning engaging , relevant and fun. Also to help foster new beginnings and a discovery of others self potential. I have gained teaching experience through a variety of educational environments and help mentor students of all ages, helping develop enrichment activities to support learning that bit further. I am ready for the next stage in my life and I believe that I am truly proud of myself and I can’t see me doing anything else, but teaching and to help others with my knowledge and experiences from this year. There is not anything else in this world I would devote more time to than being in the classroom giving all that passion and determination that sparked the individual I am today. I wish to pledge to be creative and innovative in my teaching and learning strategies to differentiate learning on a individual need basis. Most of all I want students to enjoy learning and to feel they can let me into their own personal learning journey. My time is now.
IVE DONE IT :D
